Don Rowe’s career began working for the Chief of Staff to the CEO of a major insurance company, where he gained a deep understanding of executive decision-making and the challenges organizations face when engaging consultants. After earning his MBA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s Kenan-Flagler Business School, he transitioned into strategy consulting at Andersen Consulting (now Accenture), where he saw how large firms operate—often relying on rigid frameworks that lack real-world practicality. Later, as an independent consultant and founder of a boutique consultancy, he experienced firsthand the challenges that both consultants and organizations face—navigating fragmented consulting models, accessing the right expertise, and ensuring cost-effective, high-impact solutions. Additionally, building a national network in the benefits industry reinforced the power of bringing independent organizations together to strengthen their capabilities.
