As a former healthcare senior executive, Fred brings expertise and experience from an extensive career which includes 40+ years overseeing small, medium, and large medical centers included the following departments: Environmental Health and Safety, Workplace Safety, Environmental (Housekeeping) Services, Food and Nutrition Services, Facilities Services, Supply Chain, Telecom Services, Clinical Technology, Gardening, Security, Large, Medium and Small Construction Projects, and Capital Equipment.
Fred had direct administrative oversight of the programming, design, construction and opening of two hospitals in Southern California, as well as medical office buildings and hundreds of healthcare construction projects. This included performing a deep dive on both patient throughput and employee workflows for all hospital and ambulatory departments/clinics. Additionally, Fred led a team that developed and implemented Kaiser Permanente’s Active Shooter program.
He also has experience and extensive knowledge within the following areas: Emergency Management, Threat Management/Active Shooter Programs, Fire Life Safety, Environment of Care, Utilities Management, Indoor Air Quality, Water Management Plans, and Regulated Waste.
Fred has been closely involved with the following regulatory surveys during his career: The Joint Commission, CMS, California CDPH/GACH Licensing and the United States Department of Veteran’s Affairs. Many of these surveys resulted in zero deficiencies within his area of oversight. His collective/collaborative leadership style contributed to 5 Star CMS ratings and California’s Best Facilities ratings from US News and World Report.
Lastly, Fred is an ACHE Senior Executive Program graduate and a Healthcare 2.0 Leadership Award recipient.
