Sue is a Principal at StarBridge Advisors, LLC. A nationally recognized health IT leader with 40 years of experience in healthcare IT, Sue was named the CHIME-HIMSS John E. Gall, Jr. CIO of the Year in 2014. Her extensive career in IT leadership includes roles as CIO at Brigham and Women’s Hospital (2000-2012) and at University of Michigan Hospitals and Health Centers (2012-2015).
Sue has also been a go-to for high-profile interim CIO roles in healthcare, recently serving as interim SVP and Chief Information Officer at Boston Children’s Hospital. She has also held interim leadership roles at University of Vermont Health Network, Stony Brook Medicine, and University Hospitals in Cleveland. Prior to StarBridge, Sue was a founding advisor at Next Wave Health Advisors.
An active HIMSS and CHIME member, Sue served on the CHIME board (2004-2006), chaired CHIME’s Education Foundation Board (2006-2009), and served on key policy committees achieving fellow status with both HIMSS and CHIME. She served on the AAMI board 2013-2022 including as Vice Chair of Health IT. She holds the Linkage Executive Coaching Certification from the University of Michigan and Linkage Inc. and has served as executive coach, mentor and senior advisor for IT leaders in multiple organizations. She holds an
MBA from Illinois Benedictine College and is a writer, speaker, and podcaster on health IT topics, including her blog, Health IT Connect.
